WHO TRAVELS WITH CENTAURA
The premise of Centaura is that you are comfortable around
horses, and you want to see part of the world where horses still reign.
You are not willing to get on an overworked or abused animal. (Yes, there
are thousands of places to rent horses in Costa Rica -- far more than
places to rent cars).
Centaura commits to providing you with quality horses,
trained, treated, and maintained with respect. We combine our horses
with always interesting accommodations (some elegant, some rustic, some
authentically caveman -- you decide), and magical places to enjoy the
riding. If you are an expert rider, we have horses for you (see Lucy
on Caliente, below). If you are not really very experienced, but want
to gain both experience and the passion for horses that we share, we
have other horses, from sweet Gordita to
prancing Bandolero, from gentle Perla to tiny, fire-hearted Dulce de Leche.
We’ve selected locations in Costa Rica to provide
you with a wide diversity of experience, both on the horses and in the hotels
and meals. Our selections range from five star hotels on the beach to isolated
basic mountain lodging set amidst an indigenous population. One of our favorites
is a small comfortable naturalist’s paradise hotel on a horse breeding
ranch a hundred years old.
We have found for you beautiful beaches and primary forests,
active volcanoes and hot springs, mountains and cloud forests, and we’ve
allowed you enough time for swimming or sea kayaking or deep sea fishing
or whitewater rafting or soaking in natural hot volcanic waters.
But most of all we ask that you allow us as your final three
days to stay with us near Arenal
Volcano, and join us on a cabalgata.
